In the context of hydrology, the WMO Hydrological Observing System (WHOS) was designed to allow and facilitate the integration of observations, exchange, research and processing of data including modeling and forecasting, to meet the needs of disaster risk reduction companies, monitor and improve the availability of environmental resources, climate resilience and economic growth. With its implementation of conceptual capabilities for sustainable data management, the WHOS operational architecture is the hydrology system of the future.

CNR-IIA contributes to WHOS by developing, advancing and operationally managing a key component of its architecture: the WHOS broker, responsible for enabling interoperability between heterogeneous hydrological systems participating in WHO on a global scale.

The “WMO Hydrological Observing System (WHOS)” webinar was held on 6 September 2021.
