L'Institute on Atmospheric Pollution (CNR-IIA) has signed a bilateral scientific cooperation agreement with the Feng Chia University of Taiwan, whose purpose is the creation of a joint research laboratory (Joint Research Lab) on the advanced production of biohydrogen e biomethane, the study of advanced materials through electrospinning technology, machine learning (AI).

The agreement was signed by Director of the CNR-IIA Francesco Petracchini, visiting Taiwan, and the President of Taichung University, Dr. Wei Wang, in the presence of the major academic offices of the Taiwanese University.

The agreement provides for the creation of various research units and several progress steps: an initial state of the art analysis with lab-scale testing, theoptimization of analytical methods, the study ofsocial acceptance in the two reference countries, the use of GIS e remote sensing, implementation of the plant pilot, involvement of local populations and stakeholders, the use of advanced sensors and Artificial intelligence, among others.

A long but well-defined path in which the two institutions are committed to carrying out joint laboratories and research through human, economic and instrumental resources for the achievement of ambitious objectives and important scientific results in terms of ecological transition and decarbonization, bioenergy research and related impacts on the population.

The agreement will be valid until December 31 2027.
