The Institute on Atmospheric Pollution of the CNR (CNR-IIA) has signed a three-year research agreement with the Directorate for the Circular Economy of the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security (MASE-EC).

The same fits in the groove of "Action Plan for the Circular Economy" ofXNUMX-XNUMX business days, ambitious strategy to accelerate the transition towards a more rational and responsible use of resources, in line with the goal of climate neutrality by 2050 expected from Green Deal.

The agreement consists of two modules:

- The first form provides a scientific study of technological solutions times to prevention, To development (i.e. recovery and recycling) of certain waste and matter flows, Including: plastic; textile; construction, construction and demolition; WEEE; wood, paper and cardboard; agribusiness; blue circular economy. The joint activities will allow for the development of specifications supply chain and territorial solutions.

- The second form provides for a technical-scientific study for the definition and implementation of minimum environmental criteria (CAM), as well as in the shares descending from National action plan for environmental sustainability in the public administration sector. Among the latter, the survey aimed at assessing theeffectiveness of CAMs as an instrument of economic and industrial environmental policy and monitoring on the level of application of the CAM in some categories of procurement.

The CNR-IIA will provide technical-scientific support to the staff of the Ministry for the definition of the national position in specific meetings and round tables for the preparation of roadmaps national on the subject of circular economy, for the negotiation stages of the main European and international fora (Eg. Stockholm Conventions, Rotterdam e Basel; meeting in the context of G7-G20 and UE) and for the implementation of the commitments that will derive from it.
