On the occasion of EGU General Assembly 2021, will be presented on the morning of Tuesday 27 April, from 11:19 to 11:21, a contribution entitled "The brokering framework empowering WMO Hydrological Observing System (WHOS) ”signed by Enrico Boldrini, Paolo Mazzetti, Fabrizio Papeschi, Roberto Roncella, Mattia Santoro, Massimiliano Olivieri, Stefano Nativi, Silvano Pecora, Igor Chernov, and Claudio Caponi.

The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) is building the WMO Hydrological Observing System (WHOS), a software (and human) framework with the aim of improving the sharing of hydrological data and knowledge around the world.

National Hydrological Services (NHS) are already sharing the data collected in each country on the web, using different publication services. WHOS exploits the Discovery and Access Broker (DAB) technology developed and managed in its cloud infrastructure by the CNR-IIA to create WHOS-broker, a key component of the WHOS architecture. WHOS-broker has the task of harmonizing available and heterogeneous metadata, data and services, making information already published more accessible to scientists, decision makers and the general public around the world.
