From 14 to 16 May it will be held at theBotanical Garden of Rome la Conference final of the project NewLife4Drylands funded by the LIFE program – https://www.newlife4drylands.eu/en/ – of which theCnr Institute on Air Pollution (Cnr-Iia) he is coordinator, and Paolo Mazzetti the scientific director.

Experts, scientists, policy makers and project partners will present tools and strategies developed within the project to combat land degradation and desertification, for land monitoring and for the restoration of degraded areas, from the global to the local level, together with the experiences of the pilot sites.

During the three days of the conference, options, proposals and concrete experiences to achieve land degradation neutrality and combat desertification will be discussed, also considering their contribution to the definition and implementation of the monitoring framework contained in the EU proposal for a monitoring directive and soil resilience.

The first day will be dedicated to international issues including an update on the status of the European directive on soil monitoring and some European soil projects. The second day is dedicated to the presentation of the project results and in the afternoon an in-depth study will be held at national level. The third day includes a visit to the Bosco Palo Laziale, one of the pilot sites of the project.
