As part of the call for the upgrade of research infrastructures in the Arctic (PRA-INFRA 2021) the iSCORE (Infrastructure on Snow COver Reflectance and sEasonality) proposal was selected, coordinated by Roberto Salzano. The action is driven by CNR-IIA and participate CNR-ISP, IUSS, and IMF.

The objective of iSCORE is to improve the observational capabilities necessary to describe the dynamics of the snow cover. The identified strategy is based on the consolidation of the multi-sensor platform already functioning in the Svalbard archipelago by assimilating the available capabilities into a multi-sensor data infrastructure. Derived products, focused on the spatial distribution and spectral properties of the snowpack, will be co-designed to maximize integration with observation systems remota of the Arctic.
