As part of the call for the upgrade of research infrastructures in the Arctic (PRA-INFRA 2021) the iSCORE (Infrastructure on Snow COver Reflectance and sEasonality) proposal was selected, coordinated by Roberto Salzano. The action is driven by CNR-IIA and participate CNR-ISP, IUSS, and IMF.
The objective of iSCORE is to improve the observational capabilities needed to describe snow cover dynamics. The identified strategy is based on the consolidation of the multisensor platform already operating in the Svalbard archipelago by assimilating the available capabilities into a multisensor data infrastructure. The derived products, focused on the spatial distribution and spectral properties of the snow cover, will be co-designed to maximize the integration with Arctic remote observation systems.
