Abstract of the project
The I-CHANGE project funded by the European Union under the Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Framework Program, aims to promote the active participation of citizens to address climate change, sustainable development and environmental protection in the framework of the European Green Deal, the European Climate Pact and the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030. Citizens and civil society have a central role in protecting the environment and their direct involvement is essential to lead a true change and promote environmentally sustainable behavior. I-CHANGE represents a paradigm change that can be achieved through a multidisciplinary and participatory approach that includes improving the usability of data; raising awareness among citizens by observing the environmental impacts of human activities; the active participation of citizens with their active involvement through a set of Living Labs located in different socio-economic contexts; raising awareness of climate change by developing a clear understanding of the scientific processes underlying this phenomenon and of the need for environmental protection.
