The CNR-IIA joins ICESP
The CNR-IIA adheres to the ICESP platform (Italian Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform) by signing the "ICESP Charter"
CNR-IIA and RBS together for the master's degree in "Sustainability and Circular Bioeconomy"
Agreement between the CNR-IIA and the Rome Business School for the scientific coordination of the Master in "Sustainability and Circular Bio-economy"
A new life for diapers, cigarette butts and hard plastics
On Rinnovabili.it the researchers of the CNR IIA - Institute on Atmospheric Pollution Marco Torre and Valerio Paolini, tell us about the three types of waste on which it is possible to intervene to increase the recycling of plastic: diapers, cigarette butts and hard plastics.
Activities in collaboration with the GDL dissemination.
Stories of Circular Economy - CNR
Fabio Trincardi, the director of the Department of Earth System Sciences and Technologies for the Environment of the CNR (CNR-DSSTA), describes on la 7 the ideas born within the RINASCE, RECEPIT and PLASMARE projects to move from the linear economy to circular economy with a view to reducing and re-using waste.
Smart nanotextiles from natural waste
The waste from industrial processes in the agri-food field can represent containers of bio-materials which, converted by means of electrospinning technology into intelligent nanotissues, become potential sensors to monitor the environment.
REBORN - The revenge of the butt
Cigarette filters are a type of waste that significantly contributes to the formation of microplastics in the environment. Their interior is made up of a polymeric material, cellulose acetate. In the RINASCE project, a method and prototype was developed to recycle cigarette filters, resulting in a clean polymer that can be reused.
Shaping
The final video of the PLASMARE project - Plastics for new materials through an eco-sustainable recycling - describes the management of hard plastics and the eco-sustainable recycling potential of some parts. The project, financed by the Ministry of the Environment and the Protection of the Territory and the Sea, was born from the collaboration of the CNR-ISMN, the CNR-IIA and the company Esper srl.
