Today, 9th December, from 9: 30 to 17: 00, takes place final workshop of the project "Integrating environmental and biological monitoring to assess occupational exposure to chemical agents and its application in the artistic ceramics production sector and other metalworking activities", financed by INAIL under the Calls for Collaborative Research (BRiC).

The project, coordinated by Department of Environmental Biology, Sapienza University of Rome, saw the participation of:

  • CNR – Institute for Atmospheric Pollution (IIA)
  • Department of Chemistry of Sapienza University of Rome
  • Prevention Department of the USL Umbria 1
  • Department of Chemical Sciences and Technologies of the University of Rome Tor Vergata
    Besides INAIL as a funding body.

The initiative aimed to:

  • the optimization of new methods for the assessment of occupational exposure to air pollutants;
  • the identification of early indicators of health effects and exposure to pollutants.

During the workshop the following will be presented:

  • la methodology adopted;
  • the results of the environmental monitoring in the workplace and in the outdoor area of Santa Maria degli Angeli;
  • the results of the biological monitoring carried out on workers and residents.
