On Friday 16 June in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, a bilateral scientific and academic cooperation agreement was signed betweenInstitute on Atmospheric Pollution (CNR-IIA) andUniversity of Sarajevo, the purpose of which is the creation of a joint research programme in the areas of monitoring of the emissions e innovations on the control of air quality.

The five-year agreement was signed by Manager of the CNR-IIA Francesco Petracchini, visiting Sarajevo during the "Day of Italian research in the world “Driving Change: Promoting Sustainable Mobility for Cleaner Air and a Decarbonised Future””, promoted byItalian Embassy in Sarajevo and from Minister of Science, Higher Education and Youth of Canton Sarajevo, and the Rector of the University of Sarajevo, Dr. Rifat Škrijelj, in the presence of the main academic offices of the University and the Ministry.

A long but well-defined path in which the two institutions undertake to carry out joint research through human and instrumental resources for the achievement of ambitious objectives and important scientific results in terms of ecological transition and decarbonization in the Mediterranean area.

Specifically, the two organizations undertake to:

  • Encourage networking and the mutual exchange of research personnel, faculty, graduate students, students, and other associates for visits and knowledge transfer;
  • Promote and lead educational programs, joint training and researchsuch as doctoral and post-doctoral study programs and projects;
  • Promote the Participation joint and the fundraising for research, to the activities of technology transfer andinstruction;
  • To organize jointly conferences, symposiums, congresses, seminars, courses, summer schools, workshops and other meetings of mutual interest;
  • Favor it exchange of material of scientific literature, of textbooks e other publications university or research;
  • Undertake others activities of mutual interest.
