The final conference of the PLASMARE project will be held on Wednesday 26 February 2020 from 09:00 at the Sala Marconi of the CNR, Piazzale Aldo Moro 7, in Rome.

The PLASMARE project - PLASTICS for new materials through an eco-sustainable recycling - funded by the Ministry of the Environment and the Protection of the Territory and the Sea aims to identify a sustainable process for the management of household waste consisting of hard non-packaging plastics, currently disposed of in landfill, reducing its impact on the environment and promoting the eco-design of new products.

Currently the separate collection of plastic concerns solo The packaging. However, there are a number of plastic products on the market that are not yet recyclable. The Plasmare project aims to study and implement a sustainable recycling technique for these products (which are composed of so-called "hard" plastics) and to identify a correct supply chain for disposal.

Among the products still not recyclable today, we find commonly used objects (packages for "blister" tablets, detergent containers, CD cases), household items (tupperware-type containers, water bottles, cutlery, doormats, brooms, hangers), and toys various kinds.
