Il Manager ofCNR Institute on Atmospheric Pollution, Francesco Petracchini, presented the “Sustainable Islands” report during the first edition of “Sea Resource” Forum which was held in Trieste on 14 and 15 September 2023.

The initiative, spinoff of the edtech To the South intended for the theme of valorisation of the "sea resource", was launched by The European House - Ambrosetti in collaboration with the Minister for Civil Protection and Maritime Policies, Nello Musumeci, and with the patronage of Presidency of the Council of Ministers.

At the center of the project la competitiveness e attractiveness of sea ​​supply chain as a whole, through the aggregation of the different components of the political and socio-economic system of the Mediterranean around the intervention priority e promotion for the sector, also in industrial key.

In the “Sustainable Islands” report, drawn up in collaboration with Legambiente and now in its fifth edition, entitled "The ecological transition of the smaller islands", data relating to are presented 27 inhabited minor maritime islands in Italy and their efforts to promote the environmental sustainability (ecology transition), considering the areas ofthe energy, the water cycle, wasteand mobility sectors, of land use and biodiversity.
