The Smart Logistics research project is promoted by CNR-IIA together with the Road Transport Register of the Ministry of Transport and aims to rationalize the freight transport sector, particularly in the urban area, and to promote a decarbonisation strategy within it that steps for energy transition, digital development and regulatory change.

The project addresses the problems relating to the goods distribution sector, whose externalities afflict the urban areas of Italian cities: pollution, road congestion, but also noise and the potential conflict with other modes of transport.

The studies and tools carried out during the project allow for greater awareness and knowledge of the distribution logistics infrastructure at national level, in close correlation with the local and urban distribution system and demonstrate that there are solutions for greater sustainability of the system. logistics through the reduction of CO emissions2, noise and air pollution.

The three final webinars of the project focus on these issues, which will present the results to local administrators, urban planners and professionals who are called to implement the regulations on logistics.
