EuroGEOSec will see the establishment of a secretariat for EuroGEO, bringing together a European consortium formed by the core group involved in the H2020 project e-shape. The consortium will collaborate with the Joint Research Center Knowledge Center on Earth Observation (JRC-KCEO) to support the EuroGEO vision, preparing the transition of the EuroGEO initiative into a sustainable enterprise and developing a sustainability plan that guides its long-term operation.
The Secretariat will strengthen and promote EuroGEO priorities; will serve as the basis for the allocation of scientifically based research funding; will support the organization of EuroGEO events and meetings; will lead the dialogue with relevant stakeholders and increase awareness and interest in the EuroGEO initiative.
