Sampling started in Slovakia on Thursday 20 July as part of the project LIFE RE-BREATH.

The researchers ofCNR Institute on Atmospheric Pollution they installed a Pezinok, near Bratislava, the tools for the air quality monitoring in the vicinity of one bus stop of the Slovakian urban lines. The instruments they will sample until next August 4th the atmospheric particulate matter. Subsequently, in the laboratory, analyzes of the same particulate will be carried out, gravimetric analyses, analysis of organic micropollutants, in addition to VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds).

Il August 7th, then, will start the monitoring ofair concurrent with the mounting bus numbers di Pezinok of the new brake systems made by Brembo within the project.

The impact of the new braking systems installed during the project will emerge from the analyses

The project Re-Breath (REduction of Break wear Emissions in the Transport sector), funded under the European LIFE programme, has the ambitious goal of improve knowledge of non-depleted microparticle emissions generated by the braking systems of the local public transport system (LPT); evaluate theirs impact on quality of life of the people and ontechnology; and finally, design and develop an innovative bus braking system and more respectful of the environment and intervene with green mitigation works.

Among the project partner, coordinated by Brembo, the Municipality of Bergamo, the National Research Council (CNR), With the 'Institute on Atmospheric Pollution (CNR-IIA) andInstitute on Nanostructured Materials (CNR-ISMN); in the end Italia Srl arrives e Slovakia as arrives
