GREENTENANTS
Financed by: POR FESR LAZIO 2014/2020 - Action 3.3.1, "Green building and Smart Building" public notice Period: January 2018 - July 2019
Introduction
The problem of energy demand and the implementation of alternative and differentiated generation systems is very topical and linked to the Italian commitments to 2030 after the Paris climate conference. Awareness of the extent and evolution of energy consumption over time is often little known. The unified Green Tenants system makes it possible to make these data accessible and, above all, to process them in an innovative way, translating them into actions to be taken to improve the performance of the plants, obtaining significant economic savings. The R&D program presented here includes experimental research and development activities for the production of the Green Tenants system capable of monitoring the energy behavior of buildings in the tertiary, public or private sector. In this way it will be possible to increase the awareness of the users on the energy consumption of the users and it is possible to intervene by cutting consumption through the implementation of an IT energy platform. These actions are preparatory to accelerating the penetration of interventions on renewables and energy saving that can be activated by businesses, local authorities and citizens of the Lazio region.Description
The "Green Tenants" project involves the conception, design, implementation and subsequent industrialization of a technological solution to improve the rationalization in the use of natural resources through an innovative IT platform and related hardware components to accompany smart solutions buildings of the advanced tertiary sector in the Lazio region. It aims to increase the energy efficiency of buildings in an active way, aiming to reduce emissions and reduce the consumption of the entities and companies involved in the interventions between 10% and 40%, not only by using energy saving measures, but adapting the measures suitable for each specific case. Green Tenants will consist of an IT platform and a network of monitoring and control systems installed at some users of the tertiary sector selected for the project. Through this platform it will be possible to interact with the technologies present, optimizing their operation, so as to make the buildings smart entities with reduced and controlled consumption. Not only will we work with remote-controlled relays and regulation systems, but by identifying the on and off times of the users we will also obtain profiling of user habits. As part of the program, all electrical utilities present (air conditioning, servers, sockets, lighting, auxiliary systems) will be physically monitored by the program by means of dedicated applications developed for PCs, smartphones and tablets. As regards the generation plants (photovoltaic, micro-cogeneration) and the storage stations, if present, they will be monitored. If they are not present, their behavior and their connection to the system will be modeled and simulated. It will be possible to program the generation / storage systems according to the specific control needs, studying their performance in order to optimize the technologies. On this basis and piloting the available storage systems, Green Tenants will be able to operate on the devices by modeling the load curve with the aim of maximizing self-consumption, guaranteeing the utility a less variable load, as well as monitoring the emission parameters of the 'building locally, and all buildings connected to the platform. The system will also be equipped with an "air" module for monitoring indoor environmental quality which will be used to correlate energy saving measures to the control parameters of air quality and indoor microclimatic well-being of the occupants, ensuring better integration of the systems. ventilation / air conditioning with the entire building system allowing further energy savings.Aims
Specifically, the research and development program concerns the creation of a new product/service: an integrated large-scale monitoring and control system, aimed at reducing energy consumption, increasing the share of renewable energy, optimizing the use of available energy resources and minimizing environmental impact. A central computerized platform will be able to offer residential and tertiary users a tool that puts a multitude of devices and measuring equipment in communication, as well as being able to send actuation signals, and interact with apps for smartphones, tablets and computers, as clearly shown in the attached Figure 2. Inside the service center, a database collects detailed information on the consumption of each node and makes it possible to develop algorithms aimed at piloting the switching on and off of selected equipment remotely, for example eliminating the related involuntary consumption. The system also makes possible a possible interaction with energy managers, in order to be able to agree on the times of switching on of deferrable equipment, always respecting the needs of users, thus allowing customers to negotiate reduced prices for the energy consumed.Participants
