TECH4YOU
Technologies for climate change adaptation and quality of life improvement
Funding: PNRR
Period: January 2023 – December 2025
Total project budget: € 118.999.998,80
Total budget CNR IIA: € 834.927,32
Scientific Responsible: Francesco Petracchini

Abstract of the project

Tech4You promotes the production of research results through start-up activities, open innovation, transfer of technologies and research results, acceleration of businesses and services. The choice of areas of specialization is the engine to support the ecological, energy and digital transition of the two regions, supporting the specificities of the territory and experimenting with innovations to implement a zero impact economy, in a logic of renewable exploitation of natural resources, enhanced from the bioeconomy and the protection and enhancement of the environment

The institute is involved in the following Pilot Projects and activities described below:

Spoke 2: Technologies to reduce energy consumption and save biodiversity
OR2.1: Technological solutions for the deep decarbonisation of the energy system and for the reuse of scraps and waste
Pilot project 2: Innovative solutions in buildings for water-energy saving and optimization of the integrated water-energy cycle
PP Responsible of the CNR-IIA: Valerio Paolini
In the PP, the creation of a prototype system for monitoring indoor air quality is envisaged. The system will consist of sensors for monitoring and control systems, the prototype technology of the indoor air quality monitoring system will be validated in a real environment. Different environments will be selected and tested to demonstrate the system's ability to integrate indoor pollution control with air exchange control

Spoke 2: Technologies to reduce energy consumption and save biodiversity
OR2.3: Biodiversity conservation and enhancement
PP2 Pilot project: Development of new operational protocols, techniques, methods and tools for the conservation and sustainable management of terrestrial ecosystems
PP Responsible of the CNR-IIA: Saverio Vicario
The PP envisages the development of services for the calculation of terrestrial biodiversity through multitemporal sentinel satellite data and some prism images which will consist in the production of cartographic products to help the Calabrian N2K (Natura 2000 sites) managers to optimize the conservation of biodiversity. The first two years we should operate only in the Sila park and in close logistical collaboration with the park itself, the next two years the project plans to extend the services to other parks.

Spoke 2: Technologies to reduce energy consumption and save biodiversity
OR2.3: Biodiversity conservation and enhancement
PP1 Pilot project: Development of tools and applications for integrated marine communities and substrates monitoring
PP Responsible of the CNR-IIA: Patrizia Adamo
The PP foresees the development of knowledge-based algorithms for the monitoring of coastal dune habitats over time from time series of satellite data for the automatic classification of dune habitats and the measurement of shoreline dynamics. Implementation of a WebGIS for the dissemination of all EO-derived products generated during the project and of the collected data.

Spoke 2: Technologies to reduce energy consumption and save biodiversity
OR 2.5: Technologies to support pervasive environmental monitoring and sustainable mobility
Pilot project 1: IoT solutions and environmental monitoring and control systems (air, noise, electromagnetic pollution, etc...) in the regional/Southern system integrated with sustainable mobility
PP Responsible of the CNR-IIA: Antonella Macagnano
The pilot project foresees the development of an internal/external monitoring system in transport systems to understand environmental parameters and energy consumption inside vehicles and as well as monitoring campaigns for its validation.
The priority line of the Tech4You ecosystem falls within the "Climate, energy, sustainable mobility" area of the National Research Plan (PNR). The main objective is to stimulate the innovation potential of two of Italy's "Less Developed Regions", Basilicata and Calabria, currently classified as "Transition Regions", creating an innovation ecosystem in which scientific research carried out by universities and research on the territory meets the needs of citizens and public bodies to be transferred into marketable products developed and exploited by local companies with the support of expert players in the industrial innovation sector.
