Within the celebratory events for the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the National Research Council, through the network of Institutes of the Department of Chemical Sciences and Materials Technologies (DSCTM) of the CNR, with the collaboration of Institutes of the other CNR Departments, lessons, seminars, conferences, interactive exhibitions, shows and thematic workshops aimed at primary and secondary school students to explore the issues and challenges of sustainability, ecological transition, energy, green chemistry, circular economy and innovative technologies https://www.dsctm.cnr.it/it/centenario-cnr.html.

The Institute of Crystallography (IC) in close collaboration with the Institute on Air Pollution (IIA), the Institute of Environmental Geology and Geoengineering (IGAG), the Institute for the Study of Nanostructured Materials (ISMN), the Institute of Structure of Matter (ISM), the Water Research Institute (IRSA), the Institute for Biological Systems (ISB) and the Institute of Polar Sciences (ISP) present in the Montelibretti Research Territorial Area of Rome 1, will participate in this specific event with an initiative that will take place on 9 March by title: “Chemical tales of circular economy: from problems to opportunities”.

The researchers, through oral presentations and laboratory experiences, will dialogue with the students and teachers of the upper secondary schools, telling the current challenges that humanity faces, such as the environmental protection, the growing need for clean energy, limited natural resources, showing how science and research can provide tools and solutions towards a more equitable and sustainable social and economic development.
