Artificial Intelligence Working Group

Purpose of the GDL

  • Studying the state of the art of those artificial intelligence issues (including but not limited to: neural networks, Bayesian networks, reinforcement learning, expert systems) that can be applied in the activities of the CNR-IIA mission;

  • Support the various CNR-IIA laboratories in the drafting of projects and grant applications that benefit from the use of artificial intelligence algorithms;

  • Determine those artificial intelligence approaches that are most in line with the vision of the European Union with particular reference to ethical principles such as Transparency, Inclusion, Responsibility, Impartiality, Reliability, Security and Privacy:

  • Study the techniques to understand and explain the decision-making mechanisms inherent in the various artificial intelligence algorithms;

  • Propose the joint development of innovative and cutting-edge projects to the various laboratories of the CNR-IIA;

  • Become an attractive Institute in the field of application of AI in the environment for higher education in the context of the national PhD programs in AI referred to in the introduction;
