It was held last February 29, 2024 at the Institute on Air Pollution of the CNR (CNR-IIA) in Montelibretti the first of the two moments of in-depth analysis on the initiatives deriving from theThree-year collaboration agreement ongoing between the CNR-IIA and the ex Directorate for the Circular Economy of the Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security (MASE-EC).

The agreement, which is part of the “Action Plan for the Circular Economy" of European Union, an ambitious strategy to accelerate the transition towards a more rational and responsible use of resources, in line with the objective of climate neutrality by 2050 set by the Green Deal, consists of two modules:

 

  • Il first form provides for a scientific insight di technological solutions times to prevention and development of certain flows di I decline e material, Including: plastic, textiles, WEEE, end-of-life vehicles, asbestos, critical raw materials, blue circular economy.
  • Il second form provides a technical-scientific study for the definition andimplementation of the minimum environmental criteria (CAM), as well as in the shares descending from National action plan for environmental sustainability in the sector of public administration. Among the latter, the finalized investigation by Avevaluate the effectiveness of CAMs like instrument of economic and industrial environmental policy and monitoring on CAM application level in some category di procurement.

 

 

The CNR provides technical-scientific support to the Ministry of the Environment for definition of position national in specific meetings and discussion tables for the preparation of national roadmaps on the subject of economy circular, For phases negotiations of the main assemblies Europeans ed partners. and for the implementation of the commitments resulting from it.

The meeting, which was an opportunity to present the reports and studies developed in collaboration during the first year of activity, was attended by General Director for Circular Economy, eng. Silvia Grandi, and the FF Director of the Earth and Environment Department of the CNR, eng. Francesco Petracchini, as well as a large group of researchers, fellows e officials, also connected from remoto.

 

 

Numerous tbloods addressed in the presentations by researchers and ministerial representatives with the aim of encouraging wider dissemination of the results: green public procurement e sustainable production and consumption models, plastics, bioplastics and packaging, WEEE, waste from tobacco products, asbestos.

 

The meeting also offered the opportunity to visit the laboratories where the CNR-IIA conducts a broad spectrum of research and monitoring activities for the determination of the concentrations of many pollutants organic and inorganic substances present in the atmosphere.

 

 

The second moment of in-depth analysis dedicated only to the themes of blue economy and marine litter was held on March 4, from remoto, and saw the participation of not only the DGEC and the CNR-IIA but also two other CNR institutes, specifically theInstitute of Marine Sciences (CNR-ISMAR) andInstitute for Biological Resources and Marine Biotechnology (CNR-IRBIM)
