The scientific trekking took place on the morning of Sunday 23 October 2022 on a ring route of about 4 km in the Bosco Difesa Grande, in Gravina in Puglia. Participation was good, even some children were present.

The measurements of particulate matter available at the atmospheric observatory of Monte Curcio, in the Sila plateau, have recently shown an important incidence, both in frequency and magnitude, of events associated with the transport of Saharan sand.
What causes this phenomenon and what implications does it entail?
